I didn’t just survive cancer.
I found my voice because of it.
In April 2019, Angela had a clear mammogram.
Just a few months later, in July, she felt a lump.By September 6, 2019, she was told: It’s cancer.Angela was just 43. A mom. A wife. A woman with a vibrant life.But deep in her heart, she believed there was a reason behind it.
“There’s a purpose here. I just don’t know what it is yet.”
It took battling through chemo, a double mastectomy, radiation, and the grief of losing her grandmother to breast cancer 20 years ago, to realize that purpose. Angela carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, a diagnosis that not only impacts her but affects her children, her nieces, and generations of women she may never meet.
That’s why she’s speaking out.
